this is awful pretentious really, but after getting a bit bored of the baby needs hardware mixes, i started experimenting with the samplers and the orchestral patches in reason and came up with a few pieces i quite liked.
for these, i took a drum loop, copied the pattern into a bass instrument, dragged all the notes into c maj, then adjusted, pitched up or down a bit until i got a baseline that sounded ok.
from here, i'd add in some live playing of a simple enough meoldy over the loop, and replicate out and adjust everything to build up the full track.
the name(s) came about because they sound a little bit eastern european to me. not sure why really.
